The Cat Empire

On the 15th of April I went to see The Cat Empire at Eventin Apoilo (it used to be called Hammersmith Apoilo).

If you’ve never heard of them before, they’re an Australian ska and jazz band, they definitely have that feel good music vibe going on and when you see them live you can’t help but just dance.

This is my favourite song

imageI saw them last year at The O2 Academy Oxford and they were bloody amazing! The only downside was that it was the hottest day of the year! I don’t think I’ve sweated that much in my life, but it was so worth it!

The second time I saw Cat Empire it was a horrible rainy day, but it didn’t dampen our spirits haha! It roughly takes us 45minutes to get to Paddington from Twyford, so we usually like to bring a couple of cans of drink for the journey, and once at Paddington we went straight to the pub in the station for a drink, before making our way to the venue.

I’ve been to this venue quite a few times before, I really like the feel of the place and the size. The supporting act was ok but unfortunately all their songs sounded the same, I can’t remember their name but I remember they were from Australia.

Cat Empire were awesome! However as I haven’t listened to their new album properly there were a few songs I didn’t know (which is my own fault), I definitely prefer their older stuff though.

Overall I had a fun time watching them, I definitely would like to see them again!
